It is present in the path <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>%appdata%\\vi8\\tmo\\settings.json<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a human readable JSON file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changes to settings file<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We have changed the JSON structure of settings file from version 6.0 onwards.  We did this to drive memory improvements with the introduction of <a href=\"http:\/\/gotmo.co.uk\/blog\/auto-pilot\/\">Auto Pilot Engine <\/a>in TMO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p> Since the structure has been changed, previous versions of TMO will no longer work on your machine once you install version 6.* family of TMO.<\/p><cite>See below section to know how to downgrade back from version 6.*<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgrading to version 6.*<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TMO installer contains a transformation engine which will automatically transform the settings file from its previous format to its new structure. Before doing so it creates a copy of settings file in the same directory with the name &#8220;settings.1.0.bak&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This whole process should be transparent to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Known Edge cases and their fixes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few potential edge conditions where the transformation engine does not port over all the values while changing the format of the settings file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you face errors while launching TMO Settings dialogue, or if your work items do not appear in the &#8220;New WorkItem&#8221; menu anymore then please do the following<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open up settings.json in your preferred text editor<\/li><li>Look for the following line<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>\"wits\":null<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Change it to<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>\"wits\":[]<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Or to<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>\"wits\":[\"Feature\",\"Impediment\",\"User Story\",\"Task\",\"Bug\",\"Product Backlog Item\",\"Issue\",\"Requirement\"]<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Restart Your Outlook<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This should fix the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Downgrading from version 6.*<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We request you to write to us at help@gotmo.co.uk before you decide to downgrade TMO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However if you do want to downgrade then please do the following<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Delete settings.json from the path %appdata%\\vi8\\tmo<\/li><li>Remove the following registry key<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Computer\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\WOW6432Node\\vi8<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Please bear in mind that if your Windows is 32 bit, the registry key would be in the location<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>Computer\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\vi8<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Download and install version 5.4 <a href=\"https:\/\/q8sxw.app.goo.gl\/download54\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exception Logs and Help<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All exceptions and logs are present in the following location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>%appdata%\\vi8\\tmo\\Logs<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>For any help at all please do write to us at help@gotmo.co.uk and attach the contents of this folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post is relevant only if you are a current TMO user and you use a version of TMO which is less than version 6.0.0.0.
